This song was actually written a few years ago on New Years Eve 2008. The day before New Years Eve I met this BEAUTIFUL half English half Vietnamese girl, and we had this amazing day and night together on a cruise ship I was performing on ...I mean, from my end it was PERFECT. Sorta love at first sight, and she seemed equally interested in me. I felt like I'd won the lottery. The next day I woke up and was on cloud 9. Floating on air. That night was New Years Eve and I told her that I would meet her at the bar afterwards where all of her friends were going to be. After my show and ran to the bar right as the countdown for NYE was starting 10, 9, 8, 7 ...and then I saw her ...like in a movie I ran to her right as the clock was striking midnight and I went to give her a hug and she just turned her shoulder and totally blew me off. I stood there kind of stunned. Not the reaction I was expecting at all. I tried talking to her a little, but she didn't seem interested in speaking. I was kind heartbroken. All I could think to do was go to be cabin, find my guitar, and write a song about how I was feeling. It only took me about 10min to write this entire song. I felt much better after, but I'll still never know exactly what happened. Worst New Years Eve ever! haha.
